Award Letter from Festival of Media Arts

The Production, Aesthetics, and Criticism Division of the Broadcast Educators Association would like to thank you for your entry in 2009's Festival of Media Arts. We saw a jump of 50% in the number of submissions and thus the reputation of this national festival continues to grow in prestige.

Along with prestige comes increased competitiveness and this email is to congratulate you with the news that your entry was one of only 17 top awards given among the 120+ entrants. Your entry, The Run was awarded first place in the Music Video Competition.

A portion of your entry will be shown during the Festival of Media Arts: Student Video Competition Thursday afternoon (April 23) presentation. At the event each winning entry will be presented two plaques (one for the student, one for the institution) honoring the winnerıs accomplishments. Additional plaques may be ordered after the Festival at the entrantıs expense. Please consider joining us at the BEA convention held April 22-25 in Las Vegas to accept your award. The most cost effective way to attend is to join BEA as a student member ($55) and thus the convention is free (a $140 value). In addition to the awards attending the convention allows you on the NAB convention floor where all the newest equipment is demonstrated, and there is a job fair early in the week. For more info follow this link www.beaweb.org . We hope to see you there.

Your winning entry raised the bar of competitiveness and without this strong competitive field--that your entry helped create our awards would not mean as much. Please encourage the underclassmen coming behind you to participate in BEAıs Festival of Media Arts. We wish you much success in the future as your contribute more stories about the human endeavor.

Our judges were encouraged to give you a few comments that might indicate both your projectıs strengths and weaknesses. You will find these attached at the end of this email.

Thank you again for entering.
Sincerely,

Warren Koch Ph.D. BEA Student Festival Chair
